If this isn't...

the most hilarious cartoon voice ever, I dont know ..

Christmas has got me feeling the Spirit..

So I'll bless you with this, as well..

Sam Cooke- "You Were Made For Me"

I've been listening to this album since I got home about an hour ago, and its making me feel the best. So here's the full ALBUM.

I mean why not?.. If you sleep on this your a fool. The Pioneer of Modern Musicians (rock n roll, soul, name it). Don't sleep...

Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!

What's up People? I've been gone for a little, been busy with some things, but I'm back to bring some cheer. Although, I've been disenchanted with the whole Holiday Season as of late (ex. my upcoming birthday), like always, music helps me get thru it. This whole time of year is very reflective to me, with my birthday and the new year at hand. A bittersweet reminder that time truly is "slipping into the Future". The children I work with hardly grasp that idea(rightly so), and are understandably naive. In a way you can just feel there excitement & holiday Spirit, that seems to make things a lot better.

Anyways, here's a couple goodies I've got for you. Thank God the RIAA stopped deciding to sue people for sharing music, so I'm going all out. Enjoy!! And leave me some comments....

Low Budget- "Smooth Holiday Mix"
Real smooth "Yacht Rock(y)" mix, I recommend this 4 anyone, but especially my Caucasian readers. Let this rock at your Christmas party's, guaranteed to hype the whole family.

James Brown- "Soulful Christmas"
Why wouldn't I?, He's the Godfather of Soul...

Vince Guaraldi Trio- "Christmas Time is Here"
Classic, Jazz Standard by the great ivory player...(Godfather of Christmas Music?)

Vince Guaraldi- "Linus & Lucy (Pocketknife's Hark, the Holler Remix)"
Nice club mix of this classic theme, sleigh bells and all...

Platnum- "Love Shy (Crazy Cousins Remix)"
I been really diggin the funky house genre as of late, its just so soulful & groovy and Crazy Cousins are at the top of their game...

The Fugees- "How Many Mic's?"
Anyone who thinks of calling themselves a rapper might want to make a different New Years Resolution after listening to this. L-Boogie, Clef, and even Pras could slay anyone of these cats out nowadays, a lot of cats on the "come up" could learn a lot from Ms. Hill and the reFugee Camp... (you should prolly just download The Score, your welcome.)

M.I.A.- "Paper Planes(DFA Remix)"
Best Remix of this Grammy-nominated track...

Cassie- "Official Girl(CFCF Remix)"
Maybe its the spacious Reverb on the track, or Cassie amazingly sexy speaking voice(she's not really singin, is she?), or just the thought of her singin this to me, but n/h this track has been on repeat in my iTunes...

Hair- "Aquarius"
With all the craziness thats going on I'm wondering when the climax will come. And when it comes, could that climax in fact be the dawn of the Age of Aquarius?

Raphael Saadiq- The Way I See It
Could be the album of the Year, its between him and Kanye. This album effectively transports me to another era, this guys is on to somethin....

Diplo- AEIOU
One of Diplo's first mixtapes, filled with rare grooves and breaks.

Oscar the Grouch- "I Hate Christmas"
Need an explanation?

Again Happy Holidays people I'll back soon with some Kwanzaa spirit on the blog. Holler at me.

-Ez

It's that time again...

The death of this cycle is coming nearer, and holidays are plentiful. Although I don't really celebrate Christmas anymore, if anyone wants to contribute to help me get these jeans(click pic for link/info) for my birthday (the 30th of this month) or Kwanzaa, I'd be more than grateful.

In other news.. For some reason I went to the store at 4AM on Black Friday(it was after a night of partying an my judgment was impaired), and after doing so I couldn't be more disappointed in myself. No offense to anyone, but if you line up 3 hours beforehand to wait for a store to open at 4 in the morning, your a loser. No one needs anything that bad that they have to wait on a line in near, if not, freezing temperature weather. It's so bad that workers at these stores lose there lives from consumers inattentiveness and greed-filled neglect. That story is some heartbreaking shit, huh?

-Here's two of my favorite 'radio1:Essential Mixes,' one from Skream and one from Benga. Both pioneers of Dubstep, Skream only 21 when this was recorded.(now 22?)

-Common's new album... pretty good.

-The best remix i've heard of Mujava's 'Township Funk' goes to Sinden

-A dubplate I'm feelin at the moment Aba Shanti-i's-"Sanctuary (Dub) ft. Shandi-i" (Shandi-i, the vocalist, is a Japanese dude!)

Peace and Love.
'Every hoe ha dem stick a bush'

Do you ever...

Find yourself in complete awe of something so 'plain', to the point where you mentally delve into it and begin to analyze and raise questions about it to the point it pains you? If soo you're not alone, because this is me much of the time, and could be my biggest downfall(given the fact that I don't move-on from certain thoughts/ideas and get on with my life in the physical world.) However, on the other hand it's easy for me to find beauty in rather simple things. The lesson in this is to appreciate the underlying beauty/meaning in everything, but don't let it knock you off your path.

Couple Things:
-88 Keys "the Death of Adam" pick it up, its dope. Real dope.

-A-Trak & Erol Alkan Essential Mix from last night across the pond. d/l here.

-Skream's 'Watch The Ride' mixed album(it's worth it)

Peace Nic's.

I recieved a request, upon which I based this mix...

Someone told me I should include a certain song in my mixes, so I came up with this mix, and it's dedicated to the ladies. However, I'm sure you'll find plenty of tracks you can get down with in here (if not, fuck it), a 'picker-upper' this one is with more of a House mood. Feedback's appreciated.

Tracklist in comments.

The Truth Of The Matter...

No matter what your politics, this an Historic moment. Some people may not like it but this an accomplishment of the American Dream, Black White Asian Indian Indigenous. To think that throughout history, not only have people of darker Light been thought of as sub-Human, but our history(that of many indigenous people) has even been destroyed, and skewed, now before stands a triumph of History. Or at least the "History" we are taught.

My African ancestors were brought here as slaves, to build this country, the New World, and until not long ago were not considered full and respected citizens of this nation. Through our enslavement we were conditioned to think of ourselves as less than humans and it continued on through the Jim Crow-era, and many argue it is still being done today. My own Mother, had to pee on the side of the road on family vacations because Southern rest stops were segregated, treated as if she were a dog, when she was only a little girl.

To think that the Beacon of the Free World will now be head by an African-American man, a person of darker Light, someone not at all very different from me, is truly beyond me. When I heard the news, for a moment I did not have much of a reaction, but my emotions took me and, no lie, I cried. This is history, we must move on from the past, and we must unify ourselves as people in order to reach our true potential as a single Human race. We can do it. It may take time but it is attainable.

Whatever your politics, at least be proud that your country has accomplished what it has today.

Sam Cooke-"A Change Is Gonna Come"

I still encourage dissent when needed, let your voice be heard.
